We are establishing a School Twinning Programme with Julina Memorial School for the Deaf in Mityana, Uganda.

Julina is a primary school but as most of the students will not have the opportunity to attend secondary school, they also offer vocational training in hairdressing, tailoring and carpentry. The school is a mixed boarding school with an enrolment of 97 students.

5th class students in St. Brigid’s will write to their corresponding class in Julina once a month. They will exchange cards, letters and artwork throughout the year. The content of the letters will be student led with the classes in both schools being surveyed to find out what they would most like to learn about each other.
